Miami Heat Schedule – Back to the Finals?

The thing every basketball fan has been waiting for – the end of the lockout – has finally arrived. Training camps are up and running and the super short preseason is nearing. The regular season has also been shortened and the schedules for most teams seem to be extremely grueling, both in terms of teams they play and the actual number of away games being played. This makes it difficult to determine just which team will come out on top and which ones will sink under the pressure, but it also gives NBA fans a slew of great games on the Miami Heat Schedule that fans will be fighting for tickets to. No other team is feeling that pressure like the Miami Heat, a team that is looking to make a repeat of the 2010-2011 season by returning to the NBA Finals. Here’s a look at the top matchups on the early portion of the Heat schedule.

Miami at Dallas, Dec. 25:
The NBA wasted no time for the rematch game, as the Dallas Mavericks get to break out their championship rings while the team they beat watches from the side. The Heat will be anxious to see if Shane Battier will make a difference, and LeBron will be looking to rebound from a disappointing NBA Finals run. With the Heat sure to be fired up, this one has all the makings of a great opener.

Boston at Miami, Dec. 27:
After starting the season with a bang in Dallas, the Miami Heat come home to take on the Celtics, the team they knocked out in the second round of the playoffs. With a grueling Boston defense sure to make it difficult, we’ll see if the Heat have a more balanced offense than last year. Boston has shown the type of resiliency over the years that the Miami Heat could learn from.

Lakers at Miami, Jan. 19:
Talk about star power. With the Lakers coming to town, we get a potential NBA Finals preview that is one of the must-watch games of the month of January. It’s unclear who will be on the Lakers’ roster by January, but expect them to have another talented roster led by the best closer in basketball, Kobe Bryant. With Bryant hungry for his sixth ring this season, the Lakers are sure to be one of the best teams in the regular season and the Heat get an early crack at them in front of their home crowd.

Chicago at Miami, Jan. 29:
The two teams that constantly come up in the talk of best teams in the East are the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls. Reigning MVP Derrick Rose will be looking to show that he’s no fluke and would love to get a little revenge on the Miami Heat. Both teams have elite defenses filled with talented and energetic players that will make baskets a premium, making it feel like an Eastern Conference playoff game. Will the tough defense of the Bulls be able to hold off the Heat? Will the Triple Threat once again overwhelm the Bulls with talent?
